Just want to know of those of you who have taken delivery, how do you find the posted MPG or L/100km as compared to real driving conditions?
Nope. V6 Tech.That's amazing. 4 cylinder?
fwd?nope. V6 tech.
For context:
My gf drove for a large portion but our driving styles are very similar.
This reported mpg included 2 stops, one in wilkes-barre pa, where we stayed over night, drove downtown, got dinner, etc and a stop at my gf's house (stayed about an hour before heading home 2.5 hrs)... So it included maybe only 5-10 miles of "city" driving, the rest was highway.
I think that there was a healthy mix of hills (not all flat), but maybe less hills than i encounter going from albany to cortland ny (2.5 hrs) which i do 2-3 times a month (and get slightly lower mpg for equivalent speed).... However if you'll notice above, the last 2.5 hrs of this trip from va included that cortland-albany leg...one of the reasons why i'm so impressed.
Yup. 2015 FWD (PAWS) V6 Tech.fwd?
I get 36.75 mpg on the V6 SH-AWD on highway driving. That's not much of a difference. That says a lot for the second generation light weight SH-AWD system. Makes getting the SH-AWD a no brainer.Yup. 2015 FWD (PAWS) V6 Tech.
Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 (225/50 ZR18 95W)
(BCP to round out my specs).
adding: 93 octane... not a fan of 89... use probably 75% 93 and 25% 91. the gas stations i go to don't have 91 or I'd get it more often... 87/89/93...
thanks for rubbing it in. LOL j/k.I get 36.75 mpg on the V6 SH-AWD on highway driving. That's not much of a difference. That says a lot for the second generation light weight SH-AWD system. Makes getting the SH-AWD a no brainer.
I know the feeling. Penny pinched with one of my cars back in 2010 and drove it for 1.5 year thinking why I didn't get leather seats and AWD and since then I decided not to get anything less than fully loaded.thanks for rubbing it in. LOL j/k.
that is pretty awesome however.
I'm considering a few changes and might upgrade my TLX ahead of the current schedule (which was to drive this one into the ground).
If they don't fix my transmission, I'll likely be going to a newer model, changing color, and may even bump up to AWD and Advance/Elite... penny pinching a few thousand $ has left me thinking.
What's weird is I'm not at all unhappy, just feel like I'd like a few things "more".![]()
I might finally be getting to the point financially that I can make the call to go loaded from here on out. I don't need loaded RLX or some Merc S550 or that, but in the range of car we're in... the difference between 35 and 40k (for used) or 42 and 45 (new) honestly isn't that much... even if it felt like it at the time.I know the feeling. I don't have any issues with the car but would like to trade it in for the one with the Diamond Pentagon grill when it's out in a year or two.
If it makes you feel any better, I get 24 mpg on highway and city combined driving.
I wouldn't go to the extent of getting a dongle to calculate the mileage considering Acura has the most accurate mileage calculator of all cars as per the article in a thread on the forum but whatever floats your boat.I might finally be getting to the point financially that I can make the call to go loaded from here on out. Thanks for the gesture, but I take no pleasure in other people's pain.
I do so much highway driving, it's a little difficult for me to get an accurate picture of my city mpg (and by extension combined). Fuelly tells me I've tracked 14,500 miles (of my 24k on the car) and avg mpg is 29.1. The "cty/hwy" split is manually entered of course, so reporting those values makes little sense because it requires me to remember what I've done for ~400 miles (easy for the long trips I guess)... though I also have the "Automatic" dongle (kinda cool, though not really ground breaking tech), and they've started to provide additional details about driving habits etc. I would like to see "time @ X mph" which would give me a much more accurate city/hwy split (just group 0-50mph as city and 51-max as hwy). Sorry, I'm geeking out.
Interesting. I have noticed that there's a pretty consistent 2mpg offset between what the TLX reports and what Fuelly reports for a full trip (and fuelly is miles divided by gallons i put in... not sure it gets more accurate than that unless I mess up on the data entry), with the TLX number being 2mpg higher. What I will say is if the Acura isn't 'accurate' it's 'precise'. I get what appears to be the same offset every time (I think another member 'gary325' has a log of both TLX calculation and manual over time).I wouldn't go to the extent of getting a dongle to calculate the mileage considering Acura has the most accurate mileage calculator of all cars as per the article in a thread on the forum but whatever floats your boat.
I don't like the RLX enough to even consider it and at that price, I'd much rather go with the stunning new E-Class.
