This.
I can't see why someone would want to do that to these cars.
They aren't a performance car, so every performance mod will cascade into other mods. If you go faster, you need to stop faster, better suspension, etc. Pretty soon what was a nice driver is no longer what you started with. Plus big dollars wont translate into big gains, and the money spent will never be recovered. IMO
I know everyone is different, but for me, this is a 4 door sedan, to begin with I wouldn't have bought it with a 4 cylinder, let alone consider adding forced induction to either motor. IMO if you want to go fast, get a car that was designed for it, not a luxury "sport" sedan that is middle of the pack at best. You can get a 2008-2009 M3 for under 30K, it's a better go fast package to start with, and will only get much better with minor mods.
Or if you have a lower budget buy an old Miata and convert it to a track autocross car. For under $10K you can build a car that is a TON of fun to drive.
Either way your DD remains a great car, with a nice ride, and you can get the performance bug out of your system in a car that will truly perform.
Just my opinion, I'm an old guy, so I see things differently sometimes, partly because I have traveled these paths, and experienced the end results.
