The TLX does not come with smoked glass Windows. My ZDX had the rear smoked glass windows and it looked really good.

The glass on all cars comes with a factory tint. Its usually around 85%. That's why 99 out of 100 people are not legal even if they think they are legal.

I was always under the assumption we had no tint at all on our TLXs (100%). Event the front window is not even tinted above the A line.

I believe there is a certain level of tint right from the factory. It's minimal. 85% sounds like what I've heard previously.

Third brakelight

For folks that have tinted the back window, did your tinter go behind the third brake light? Or cut around it? I fear that the cutout looks... Incomplete. But I realize it might not be easy to get the tint to adhere. I'm wondering if the standard is cutting around, or going under. Thanks!

I got my car tinted this week. Asked the guy to put 35% all around, job was done in around 3 hours. I the paid the bill, picked up the car and left only to find that he wrote 45% on the receipt. He charged me $250 for Suntek CXP film, have no complaints about the job itself.

Now, I am thinking just let it go or ask him why he put 45% when I told him to do 35%.

I have same film with 28% I guess they showed me 35% n up it was too low for me subjective though, if I were you I would go back n get it less than 35%.

Don't know if you can tell in the pic, but I have 30% front, and 5% rest. It's technically very illegal to do 30% front in California but it's been almost a year and still haven't get pulled over. I guess I'm just lucky

They all say it looks better but the risk is there. How many of you went around the brake light and or under. If you went around the light how do you feel about the looks? If you went under did you have any of the issues as stated above?

It appears my guy went around the cameras and rear light.
Debating to get my sunroof tinted I've heard both pros and theoretical cons, but here in southern California the sun comes through the sunroof with a vengeance.

Isn't the sunroof tinted a bit from the factory? There's also the sunshade when the car is parked I suppose.

The sunroof is factory tinted.
I think due to the sides being so dark, it makes the sun feel a lot stronger now when coming through the sunroof. Then again it's a "SUN"roof roght.. lol

I did get the acura custom sunshade from the dealer for free gift of the manager, Part#: 08R13-TZ3-100

I love how it fits like a glove.

I have the same sunshade. I agree that it fits really well.

What I meant was that you could use the sunroof shade panel of it got too hot.

Well, I finally got my tint applied! 20% in the rears. I think that's dark enough especially since it's illegal to tint the fronts here and I didn't want an insane contrast.
