I can't speak to the 2018 specifics but I can tell you that the 2020 Sales Brochure lists that option only for the ADVANCE package (not the A-Spec or the Tech packages). Since it may be rare where a package deletes an item mid-model the best guess is a "no" for the 2018 A-Spec.

That said I seem to recall some chatter about retro fitting the functionality. The best source on this site for these types of issues/questions seems to be a contributor "Trickvert". You might do some searches on this site for his/her input. If he/she doesn't know then it will forever by a mystery to us mortals.

LOL! Thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm glad my input is helpful, but I'm not really a guru on these cars, this being the first modern Honda/Acura vehicle I've owned. (I don't think my '81 beater Civic qualifies.) I've just learned from other contributors here and on AZ, by applying past experience and common sense, and by instituting the mantra, "Just Do It."

Which ever model you end up getting just purchase the Acura remote start from the dealer and have Acura install it. When I purchased my 2018 TLX
SH-AWD A-SPEC thats what I did. You will also get two new key fobs and it will be under full warranty. This is an excellent vehicle! You will be glad you purchased. Post a picture if you end up getting one. Good luck!

If you have any mechanical ability at all, there's no reason to pay the dealer for this simple installation. I bought the unit online, installed it myself, and paid the dealer $70 to program the new fobs. Because I spent about $200 on other parts that day, they cut the "spare" key blanks I brought along (purchased on eBay for about $6 each) at no additional cost.

If you want to do this on the cheap, there's a thread somewhere on what junkyard units and fobs to look for.

 

Can be purchased online as an accessory for about $300.
