I have a 2019 TLX A-spec and the multi info display usually shows "initializing, please wait" on the smartphone screen. This stays whether or not the USB is plugged in. Sometimes is operates properly and Android Auto will come up on the screen. The dealer hasn't solved this either as yet. The car has been there since Friday. Anybody run into this?

Sorry, can't figure out how to rotate the picture, looks fine on my phone.

on my 2018 TLX Tech Pkg, I have had crash problems where infotainment system would crash and then sit at the "initializing, please wait" screen for long periods of time. Sometimes, it will crash again and go through this routine.

Have you had any issues with it crashing prior to this screen, or does it just go to that screen immediately? BTW, went through many rounds with the dealership last summer after getting the car (was a loaner vehicle with a few thousand miles on it), and eventually they replaced the entire head unit, disk drive an all.

Follow up - I still have the problem with my 2019 TLX A spec. The dealer initially replaced the Android auto unit and it worked for a little while and now it works intermittently and the other times it is stuck on initializing please wait. Of course the day I brought it to the dealer recently it worked absolutely perfectly. The next day back to initializing please wait. The most frustrating part is that it is an intermittent problem. Sometimes works for days and then just stops. I just called the dealer and left a message with my service adviser. I also had been told Acura knows about this and it is an open issue. I still think this should be a recall however they seem to have no clue how to fix it. It has nothing to do with rebooting the phone, clearing Android auto, Etc. Problem starts as soon as I start the car before my phone is even plugged in to the USB port. The dealer had also try to tell me it's the USB cable that I am using. It needs to be the factory Manufacturer USB cable. Needless to say this made no difference either. I have tried to start the car without the USB cable plugged into the Android auto port, tried to start the car with the phone plugged into the USB, not plugged into the USB, shut the car off, restarted the car, restarted with USB in/out, blah, blah. Nothing fixes this problem long term! Get this straightened out Acura & Google!! ?(n)

Yeah it's frustrating when there are two companies involved and then you get an employee that doesn't go above and beyond to figure it out. I have a Bluetooth issue with Android Auto in my 18 TLX Tech. The Bluetooth doesn't connect when I'm using AA with the cable connected so I can't use the cars speakers for phone calls. Luckily I don't make too many calls and mostly text. The Bluetooth does work ok though when the cable is not connected so I can use the phone that way. I've tried all kinds of things like different cables and even different phones. The dealership service dept says it's probably an update required but you and I know there will not be a head unit update on the car. I think there is an issue with the head unit, but you know what? I am not going to deal with the dealership and replacing the whole head unit for that one issue. There is a chance they may screw something else up. Sometimes depending on the severity of the issue you're better off leaving things as is. Android Auto works well otherwise and I'm just glad the car has it. The cars default Acura navigation is a sorry program and is in need of a big overhaul. You really don't need a built in navigation anymore. That's so 2005.

I'm hoping they don't mess something else up. My car is back at the dealer and has been since Friday and now it's Wednesday. I have been told they are going back and forth with Acura corporate troubleshooting to no avail. Corporate likely sending out a field tech (whatever that means, in the real world) I will see what today brings. I may have to make a lemon law claim although that is not what I want to do.

Not sure if anybody will see this I too am having this problem. I just recently changed the head unit. I bought it from a parts warehouse off of a crashed TLX aspec installed it today. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again. I checked the serial numbers they’re different maybe the 2019 Aspec just got a bad batch. This one is from May 2020 so we’ll see what happens.
