Just saw this device today that reflects the screen contents of your phone onto a see-through glass screen installed on your dash. Looks pretty cool and for $50, maybe worth a try for those of you preferring to use your phone's road map software.

I'd have to drive a car with a HUD to see what it's really like. It just seems that it would be distracting.

In case anyone's interested in these after-market products, here's the list from 2016.

For me, I would not even bother with getting the after-market HUD unless I can get it as a factory option.
Or something like Google Glass would be a cleaner set up in my opinion.
