I don't know if it was called "Slope Control"... but there was an indicator about not parking on hills, I believe it said something about "Slope".

The ILX is fine. I have never driven a hybrid, so I get a little creeped out when the engine shuts off at a busy intersection. But it picks up well once I hit the gas pedal.

Just thought it was odd to call it slope control. I didn't see that on my dashboard but maybe that light did not illuminate. Thanks.

I had to leave my TLX in the shop for another day for them to drive it to see if the alerts come back on. So far nothing. They should finally install my spare tire kit today and wash it for me to pick up this evening. It will be like getting a new car again. :)

Neat about the ILX. I never drove a hybrid myself. Just wonder if I ever will.

About washing your vehicle. If you're really particular about you're paint, as some guys are, you might want to find a detailer to take your car to. Although the dealer does wash your car for "free", some leave a ton of small scratches on your car because of the sponges and rags they use and the poor process.

Sorry if your heart skipped a beat while reading that :D

That makes me feel sad. :(
But they did wash it good the first time, before I paid for it. :)

Update:
I received a call from my dealer. They could not reproduce the errors, but saw in my message history the alerts I was seeing. They checked all systems and nothing was abnormal. They called Acura engineering (common for Warranty work) and they indicated they HAD seen this before and that they recommended a full reset of the car's computer systems. I will be losing my presets like my seating, Air, radio, phone, Nav, but all should be fine going forward.

It is ready for pickup today.

BTW - My model is a ADV 6-Cyl/Graphite color with black interior.

Excellent news. I picked up mine as well. They reset my indicators but all of my presets were intact. Good to have it back. :)

Final Update on Indicators Issue ?

Updated 9/20/14

Well I got my car back today, washed and with a full tank of gas.

The dealer's service department could not find any issue with the car. They reset the indicators and test drove it for two days and found no further issues. I picked up the car this evening along with the check they owed me for the Trade-in minus my deposit for the new car.

I am so happy to have the car back. It drives so nice.

They also installed my spare tire kit. I will post those pics under the reviews or tire section.

I am all set and back on the road.:D

Today I experienced similar issues. Started the car and immediately was inundated with warning lights. VSA, power steering, brakes, slope control.y dealership had me towed in immediately. Service was closed so I won't get an update until tomorrow.

I was given a 2014 ILX hybrid loaner.
@BD40, Any issues since the reset?

I have been clean. TLX is running great.

Free Car Wash Indicator

Chapter 2 - I didn't know I had a free car wash indicator on my dash?!

Today when I started the car, my free car wash indicator came on. I was pleasantly surprised because after the last free wash two weeks ago, the car has become dirty again. I scheduled the free car wash for Saturday. >:D

Oh besides the Free Car Wash, I scheduled to have them look at my car because two warning indicators came on again. The same two from two weeks ago: Electric Brake Failure and Emissions Control Failure.

I am sure there is nothing mechanically wrong with the car. It rides great. So I have to take it in again and have them reset the indicators. Again they probably wont find anything wrong, but at least they will wash the car for me and give me a loaner.

Guess I should schedule another free car wash for 2 weeks from the reset.:)

Sarcasm is in RED.

BTW @BD40 should schedule a free wash before his indicators go off again. >:D

Unfortunate that this has happened again. When they couldn't find the fault you would think it would happen again. I wonder how many car washes you'll get before they find what the issue is.

Oh boy, hard to believe there is part 2 now.......I was wondering if a simple battery cable disconnect fo 10 minutes would do the trick ? But there is this free car wash thing so maybe it is not the best idea :)

That still sucks, although I'm glad it sounds pretty minor. Still, its a new car and nobody needs that grief. It sounds like everything else with your experience with this car has been great so hopefully they finally solve it.

How is the dealer handling this? Are they being proactive in taking care of you? I find how dealers/vendors handle adversity defines my future with them.

The dealer is handling it very well. I have a good relationship with the salesman and service rep. I can call the service rep on his day off and he handles my situation (I blindly called his cell phone as he requested and found he was off). He is very attentive and knowledgeable.

I sent pictures I took and provided all the details. We feel this is the same sort of issue I encountered two weeks ago where the indicators come on but there is no actual failure. They monitored the car over the weekend and worked with Acura engineers on Monday. They gave me a loaner and will give me one this time as well. Maybe after a repeat of the same issue, something will show up in the logs, if there are any logs.

Oh well. I am a patient guy. You would expect an Acura to be perfect but it is a first generation car with too much technology in it. Luckily the dealer is about 15 to 20 minutes away and I can get a loaner. I am glad the situation is not worse with actual damage. I really like the TLX. It drives and handles great. The loaner does not come close to matching a TLX.

I presented my case (ours) about the ELS vs. ANC problem and also about the missing audible warnings from the Cross traffic monitor. I printed out pages of forum posts stating that these problem truly exist and are experienced by many others. Hopefully some push can happen at the dealer level up to Acura.

I also turned my car in to see if they can figure out the mysterious indicator light issue. I got another 2014 TSX Tech loaner in Black this time.

I hope they find something this time. I enjoy driving the TLX and hate giving it up, even just for the weekend.:crying:
