I've been looking for something from Acura as WeatherTech only makes the front mats for the AWD. All I could find is the all weather mats from Acura that don't have the high edges that the weathertechs do and of course Acura won't sell only the rear mats. It's the whole set.

I ordered the weathertechs and have them ready when I pick up the car. I'm still searching for something for the rear.

Yeah the weather tech mats are awesome. I first purchased the OEM Acura all weather mat and the they are garbage... the front drivers side mat does not even cover under the accelerator pedal... and for what they charge they definitely should

I got the WeatherTech floor mats for my "other" vehicle. They are a quality product. Glad I learned of the issues with the Acura branded floor mats. Even the stock floor mats are rather "wimpy" in my opinion. I took them out for the first time to shake out the dirt and was surprised at the "thinness" of those mats.

I was going to get winter floor mats (either Acura or WeatherTech) but I think my mind is made up. The other vehicle has the accelerator pedal attached to the floor and there is a route for all that salty snow to find its way to the carpet. Could you take a picture of this area and post it here? Also, how does it "attach" to the floor. Acura uses the quarter turn fastener approach. I thought I saw a picture on this forum that shows only a hole here. I know they fit tight to the floor and do not move around (as is the case in my other vehicle) so I would suspect that attaching to the floor is not a big deal, but a hole would be!!

I will take a picture after work today.

There are two holes in the same place as the Acura mats that let you lock it in place. Also, the mat fits under the accelerator pedal. They don't come up as high on the sides near the seat as I would like. I suppose it's because the seat is low and wouldn't clear the edge of the mat if it was higher.

Overall they are much better than the stock Acura mats as well as the all weather mats that may be good for the southern states but not for anywhere there is slush and salt.

I get that you do not like the Acura mats, but some definitions for garbage:
- any matter that is no longer wanted or needed.
- anything that is contemptibly worthless.
The first definition applies as you no longer want them, but the second does not.

Did you try to sell them or just throw them out (or recycle)?

Acura did not charge me directly for them, and they are adequate for my needs. Could they be better, yes, but garbage, I don't think so.:)

If you paid for them, you would think they are garbage for the price. According to your Webster Dictionary definitions, yeah I would say the Acura all weather mats are worthless because they don't cover the most important part of the carpet... underneath they gas pedal where your heel sits. I'm all for Acura products and I myself purchased the Acura mats before I got the weather techs. However, the Acura mats are just not up to par with what they should be, and I personally cannot recommend them to anyone because they just are not a good product or worth it for what you pay. Thus the warning for people to stay away from them if they are directly paying for them because they can get something 10x better for a similar price

As promised, here are a few pictures of how the Weathertechs fit in the front of the TLX. The only issue I have is how they slope on the side exposing a bit of carpet. I understand that they have to in order to clear the track for the seat. Other than that, they fit very well and I plan on using them all year round.

I apologize for the dirty pedals. It's been rainy here for the past few days. It makes it hard to keep the mats clean.

I hated my last set of WT mats. Sure they fit good and cover most areas but because they are kinda plasticky, in the cold they get real stiff and slippery when they get wet.

The mats Hyundia sells are fantastic. Same design as the WT but they are made from the weird material almost like Astroturf and weaved together like carbon fiber. They keep their shape and don't get stiff and slippery when cold.

I'll prob buy a set of the WT just becuSe that's all that's available thoug.

A few of the mat sides looks like it's not high enough to prevent a bit of liquid sloshing around. During the winter months a lot of snow gets into the car and when it melts into puddles won't the liquid splash out?
