injen cold air intake issues

I installed the injen cold air intake on my 2.4 and had major bogging issues and drops in the idle. It got so bad the car shut down and was having all sorts of warnings on the dash. Scared the **** out of me so bad I put the stock intake back on. All of the hoses were connected correctly. I'm trying to think what could be wrong..

Everything bolts up like the accord

Thinking about it maybe I installed the maf sensor in backwards. Would that cause these issues? Thanks for the help.

Did you disconnect the battery or pull the ECU fuse prior to and after the install?

My initial thought was a vacuum hose, but if those are correctly connected, I'd have to agree that resetting the ECU might be your best bet.

I disconnected the neg battery terminal prior to installation. I must of put the maf sensor in backwards. Thanks for the help I'll mess with this again in the spring.

Is your air filter the type that is oil coated? Often some excess oil will get on the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and cause the situation you described. You might need to clean your MAF. If you decide to do this, be careful, they are fragile.

The injen has a dry filter. Everything is fine with the stock air box on again. I didn't disconnect the positive battery terminal just the negative don't know if that would have any effect.
