Key fob, auto lock, Im a moron?

So I could have sworn that the car unlocks itself without pressing the unlock button on the fob or touching the door in any way.

Get close to the car, "beep" and the doors unlock? Doesnt seem to work anymore.

Im a moron?

Im highly confident that Im a moron then. BUT, even my wife said it beeps and unlocks without touching anything. Ive been playing with the settings alot lately setting up both of our keys, so maybe its something I stumbled upon.

Yer, the sensor is in the handle, you don't have to touch it.
It does auto lock but only in one instance and that's if you unlock the car with the fob but then don't open a door. Not sure why this is the only instance Acura decided auto lock would be used and only then but there you go!

I think I may actually have a bad handle on the driver's door. It unlocks fine but when I go to lock it the button on the drivers handle doesn't always work. I often need to press the one on the rear door. It's intermittent but definitely glitchy. I'll get the dealer to look at it when I go for my first oil change.

It has been like this since the 2G TL. It is a safety feature in case you accidentally unlocked the car with the fob when walking away. I think the relock is after a minute or two if the door has not been opened.

After I leased my TLX, I was hoping that when you walked away from the car with the door closed it would lock automagically.

I agree it would be nice to walk up to the car and have it unlocked for you to enter. If you don't open the door, the door would re-lock as it does now.

US models don't have the button on the rear door handle :-/

Between the differences between US and Canadian models brought up here and the ones in another thread I guess we now know why there are differences in names, too. Advance vs Elite. :(

I test drove a Mazda 6 GT w/ Tech this Saturday that did that. It's an awesome feature. Almost like automatic headlight! Set it and forget it. haha

FOB and Iphone.

Something that you should be aware of if you have issue with your FOB. If your FOB and Iphone are too close it might result in your FOB not working. I experienced this winter. One day when leaving work I forgot my Iphone in the office so ran back to get it but put in my jacket pocket (same pocket where I keep my FOB. Got to the UG parking lot and grabbed the handle; nothing happened. I was surprised and grabbed the back dorr handle; nothing again. So I took the FOB out of my pocket and unlocked the door with the buttons on the FOB and put it back in my pocket. Sat down push the start button and nothing would happen except the MID requested that the FOB key be place close to the start button. Did so and it started and when I got home it downed to me that my Iphone was in the same pocket as my FOB. I tested it later on and sure enough same results. For this to occur both FOB and Iphone need to be really close together. FYI

I found this to be true with Android as well. I would think any radio/transmission type device would cause issues when placed next to the fob.
