2018 TLX Seat Reclining Problem

I have a 2018 TLX (base model) and have been having an issue with the seat memory. After some time from programming the seat position, the seat will begin to fully recline when entering the car. I have addressed this issue to the dealership and all they do is tell me how to reset the seat position. This of course works while at the dealership but eventually reverts back to fully reclining. Anyone else have this issue? Interestingly around the same time this happens I have noticed the clock being either ahead or behind an hour. Not sure if it’s related or just a coincidence.

If you are referring to the driver's seat base sliding back upon entry, then yes you can cancel this in the Settings menu under Seat Position Movement At Entry/Exit. If you are in fact referring to the recline of the seat back then this sounds like a malfunction.

Lots of good HowTo videos by Acura on Youtube here Acura - YouTube and also in the Owner's Manual.

The clock adjustment is not Daylight savings time is it?

Well even after the 3rd attempt of Acura trying to "fix" the issue by changing the battery and yet again resetting the seat memory, it just started happening again.
Even though I can simply reset the memory, it's very disconcerting to think that if I had placed the child seat for our almost 2 year old son on the drivers seat side then his legs could potentially be crushed by the seat without me knowing! What's the best course of action to have this actually fixed by the dealership?

Acura had me take my car to an authorized mechanic to get looked at and after a days worth of running tests they found no issue. Because it’s an intermittent issue they were not able to reproduce during their testing. Is there a way to connect one of those OBD2 devices to get a reading of the seat memory so that I can show Acura that the seat memory changed automatically? My thought is that if I can show them a record of when the memory was set vs what the memory is then that should be enough evidence there’s an issue.

Hey,
To address the intermittent seat memory issue with your 2018 Acura TLX consider installing a dashcam or interior recording camera to capture evidence of the problem. For further assistance
