Heated and Air Seats

Hello...

I just got my first TLX (after 2 TLs).

I think it is great that the heated and air cooled seats are now part of the AUTO function of the climate control.. when they were sepeate I never gave them much thought.

However, when I turn the entire system off, after turning the system on AUTO, the seat section STILL stays on auto.. winch is kind of annoying.

Thoughts?

If I turn on the MAIN climate system to AUTO... it turns the Seats to AUTO as well... great.

However if I turn OFF tghe main system from auto, it LEAVES the seats in Auto.. I have to do anothe rstep to turn them off if I want.

it is not big deal.. just seems somewhat counter intuitive.

I've never had the heated seats come on by itself. When I have the climate control set to auto, I have the AC manually selected to off and the mode man set to blow heat down and through the main vents, putting the climate control in semi auto. I wish the heated seats would turn on by itself and the blower won't run and blow cold air when I first start on the car each time. Each time I star the car, I have to turn off the climate control system so I don't get blasted with cold air.

I think it is blowing cool/cold air, the system wants to be in defrost mode at that time. If you leave in auto mode (auto vent selection at least) perhaps it will avoid having cold air through the vents at initial cold start.

I do find with fan in auto mode its doesn't blow initial when the car is cold.

When I use remote start... with fan on auto and seats on auto and its cold out (below freezing)... when I get to my car (engine still cold as its only be running for about 2 minutes) the fan is blowing on high (blowing cool/cold air) and no seat heat.

Does the fan normally hit high with auto start, cold temps while the engine is cold? Seems kind of odd.

It probably doesn't measure the humidity outside when you use the auto start. I would think it has the same sequence when you use the auto start and uses the AC compressor each time. When you get in the car and do the sequence to drive the car your personalized settings would take over. That's the way I understand the operation.
