As a matter of fact, some performance parts can void your warranty. In most cases, this refers to modifications that lead to a significant increase in horsepower and torque as well as some exhaust and suspension modifications. That’s why before you buy and install performance parts, you should always check if it voids the warranty. As a rule, this information is provided by the manufacturer of the parts and should be noted on the product page. If you’re not clear about that, feel free to contact a sales representative for more details. Without a doubt, a good online store, like, for example, Truck&Gear, will provide you with all the necessary information.

Anytime you make any modifications to your vehicle, it could cause problems with your warranty. I recently investigated a vehicle where the owner wanted more radio sound from his vehicle. He purchased a pre-amp and larger speakers. The pre-amp caught the vehicle on fire because he wired it hot all the time. He brought the vehicle in for warranty repairs and they denied warranty on the damage the pre-amp caused. The fire was not a total, but very close. For your 2016 TLX your warranty is likely over so have fun (unless you have some sort of extended warranty). If you still have warranty left on your vehicle, i would highly recommend let the warranty run its pace and then modify all you want.
