Using charging pad (Wireless Charging) and USB/C charging cord at the same time

I alway place my Samsung phone on the charging pad when I plug into Android Auto via the USB/C connection. Never thought to shut off the Charging Pad before plugging into AA. Today, when I removed the phone after a long trip I noticed that the phone was extremely warm. I realize that wireless charging does cause some heat, but this was excessive. So my question....does using both charging methods simultaneously result in reducing the life of the battery? Does everyone shut off the wireless charging before plugging into AA? Looking for some thoughts on this issue.

I just bought a wireless Bluetooth dongle and plugged it in the center console instead of connecting my phone to that port with a cable. My phone automatically connects to it when the car starts. Wireless carplay or android auto is much easier and no issues with overheating.
Yes, heat is bad for battery longevity. I’d say to turn the pad off if you’re going to plug the phone in.

Are you happy with the one you bought? Which one did you buy?

I am happy with it. It works flawlessly and audio sounds good too. It does take about 10-15 seconds after startup to connect though, thats the only downside. I bought some sticky velcro squares and stuck it to the inside wall of the console after plugging it in so it was out of the way and didn’t flop around when driving.

Here is the one I got:

Here is one for android auto, not sure what you have:
Thanks for the info. I think I might order it.
