My 2015 tlx elite was purchased dec 8, 2014.
About a month ago tire pressure monitoring system showed a tire low.


I have since taken it to dealer twice and they have not solved the problem.
First time they didn't do anything. Second time they said there was a leak
around the wheel weight and they removed and resealed the tire--all to no avail
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Aside from this the car is wonderful

Sorry about this irritant. This is the first I have heard of this one.

Is it actually a leaking tire? (Does what you measure with a tire gauge match what the sensors are saying?)

Or are the sensors wrong? (Sensor says it is low, but a tire gauge says it is OK)

There are five potential causes:

1. a hole in the tire
2. a seating issue between the tire and the wheel
3. a defect with the wheel
4. a defect with the TPMS valve
5. a poor seal between the TPMS valve with the wheel

The wheel weight are attached to the wheel via adhesives and could not be the problem.

The Acura TPMS sensors have a very small o-ring and require a very flat surface on the inside of the wheel to make a leak proof seal. I had some after market rims that had a leak problem with TPMS sensors. The solution was an additional larger o-ring, but Acura service people do not seem to know about this.

A very slow leak is hard to trace and you need to be firm with the service department on getting resolution. My guess is #5 above, but resolution may be replacement of the TPMS sensor or replacement of the wheel.

Note: the wheel must be rebalanced after each time that the tire is removed.

Sorry to hear your first post is an issue. Hopefully this is the extent of your issues and you get it resolved soon.

Congratulations on the purchase. Sad to hear about the leaking tires. Its so annoying having problems like that with a brand new vehicle.

What's ur plan to fix this leaking issue now? Back to the dealer again?
