TLX on order

Soon to be the owner of a TLX V-6 with the advance package. The color will be white with the ebony interior and I added the spare tire.
I drive 127 miles one way to work 5 or 6 times a month so I really wanted Adaptive cruise control and Lane keep assist which was a huge factor in choosing this car. I drive alligator alley so it's a pretty straight shot at 80 mph for about 90 miles.
The car went into production yesterday (Dec. 14) so I'm hoping to have it by the New Year but not holding my breath.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Let us know when you get it. I'm interested to know how long the wait actually is.

Welcome to the Forum! I see this is your first post.

Congratulations on the new TLX V6 order. I am sure you will enjoy the drive.

It's nice to see another Floridian online.

I traverse I-75 south to the Turnpike Extension for 34.1 miles each way, Monday through Friday and return home in the evening. I might have driven by you when I get off from the Sawgrass Expressway to I-75. If you see a red TLX, that most likely is me. :)

Enjoy the forum.
congrats and welcome to the boards! I'm guessing you're without an ETA then...
My TLX SH-AWD V6 is greatly delayed...

I also have the V6 with the Advance Package. Supposedly the car went into production in November and was due to be delivered last week...then there was no news whatsoever. I now know that the V6's have a transmission issue. I am assuming it has not been released from the factory as a result. I would be very curious to know if anyone else has received theirs. I ordered the silver color with the light interior. It gets hot here in Maryland in the summer, I am hoping that will make it cooler.

I hope you car arrives soon. The most difficult part is the wait. Hopefully the transmission problem will be resolved by the time you get your new TLX.

I have fond memories of Maryland, living in Laurel and Waldorf back in the late 80s/early 90s. The area including DC is a great place to live, but I wanted to return home to South Florida. :)
Some people i know hate waiting so much that they go on vacation and come back right in time to take delivery of their vehicle.... not a bad way to wait :D

That is what A/C is for. Remote start also helps as does holding down the open button (when in range) which will open all the windows and sunrooof.

Congrats, I ordered the same but the Canadian edition "elite" BWP with ebony interior way back on Sept. 22. I've been told it's supposed to be made this month. As they say all good things come to those who wait..... God I hope so cause it's been killer.
It's supposed to arrive today. Hopefully I'll have before my New Year plans.

Correct, this is my favourite feature and it really helps in hot summer days. Honda Accord offers the same trick.
I picked mine up this afternoon. The slate silver exterior with the greystone leather interior is a very pleasing combination. So far, I've only driven the 4 miles home from the dealership and do not plan to be on the road tonight, New Years Eve.

I'm curious whether or not people are going to sign up for the Acura-link services beyond the 90 day free trial. If you are, what features attract you, and if you're not , why not?

I drive only about 5,000 miles a year. I love technology so I have the V6 SH-AWD Advance package.

Thanks, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Same boat here - low km but have to have a great ride or i hate every km!

Wrt to Acuralink i used the concierge for a work restaurant reservation and it was flawless. However i am not sure i need it that frequently. Real time traffic and roadside help have more appeal at this point so time will tell. I still need to look at the 3 package options though.

As far as Acuralink, do you think you will use it for the mileage you plan to put on the car?

I figured the cost is too high for me and my situation. I drive 18,900 miles a year but just around town, from home to work. When I go on vacation I fly and rent a car. Your situation could be different. Do what you want. You can always cancel later, if you go for it.
:)
I guess I have to review the various packages. The dealership gave free lifetime concierge, as long as we have the car serviced there.

Routing around traffic jams is useful, emailing destinations to the car from my smartphone is interesting...

However, I've been using WAZE which is free NAV app with great success on my iPad...

I'm not clear on how good AcuraLink actually is. It's hard to find objective reviews
Regards the AcuraLink packages:

I probably will not use the Concierge services even during the free 90 days. I am attracted to the Connect package for a couple of reasons--the access to the car from my phone and the ability to send destinations to the car.

Emergency response seems nice, but I hope never to need it. In vehicle assistance is also nice, about the same utility as sending destinations to the car from my desktop.

The stolen car recovery is probably not something that will be useful. It will only work if the car has cell phone coverage. So professional thieves will easily avoid that. Joy-rider thieves are no likely to be able to break into the car and get it running.

So, here is the rub. These services that attract me don't seem to work so well. About half the time I try to connect to the car when it is in my garage it fails to connect. Maybe that is a semi-dead spot for the cell coverage. Don't know. I'm guessing that it uses AT&T which is notorious for spotty coverage.

Many of the searches I have done from the AcuraLink Maps web page fail to find what I am looking for whereas Google Maps does find it. Thus I am forced to search on Google, copy the address and paste it into AcuraLink Maps.

It was even worse until I figured out that if you did not somehow qualify your search with your location you got findings around Torrance, CA (which I presume is the "home" for AcuraLink.) Now I add the zip code to the search request. I would have thought that since AcuaLink can connect to your vehicle and figure out where it is the searches would be in its vicinity.

So, I am still deciding. I have a month to go still before decision time. I will at least opt for the real-time traffic since that is not so costly (and is free for the first 3 years anyway.) I do like the large Nav screen and vehicle integration much better than the cell-phone/Google Maps setup I used on my previous car. But it is a downer that map upgrades are going to cost. Google Maps are always up-to-date.

Still waiting. Not happy since they told me the end of the year.
I guess it's at the port and will get here when it gets here.

Well, at least yours should be a short wait, I just got word that my car has finally arrived at the dealership. So Acura has released a few of the advance (elite) packages, so it shouldn't be long.
I only had to wait 3-1/2 months.

It's nice to hear that several more are being released. I now have about 112 miles on mine, I've had it almost 7 days. We had our first snow in the DC area. I must say, as curious as I am to see how the SH-AWD handles, I'm in no rush to take my new baby out into the mess.

I'm still trying to sort out if I want to subscribe to the AcuraLink packages, given how little I drive. I also found someone very qualified to do a careful detailing with the C-Quartz, but it's another $1,000 and given that the car is most often in the garage, I may not even go forward with that.

It's an awesome car to drive. I've really been enjoying it. I've even gotten used to the idle-stop so-called "feature" and found that I don't need to disable it, but can lightly feather the brakes and it doesn't kick in.

Got it yesterday. 11 miles on it stinking up my garage. How I love the smell of a new car.
I would have driven more but had a Patriots game to watch :)
