Timing belt service in South St. Louis county Mo.

I went to the Frank Leta Acura dealer today for a tire rotation, oil change, and the Christmas tree lights on the dash again (AGM battery was changed out last Nov.). Of course the warning lights went away when the service manager started the engine, they are doing diagnostics.

My 2015 TLX Advance is just over 105K miles, I was going to wait until the sub code 4 popped up to have the Timing belt service done but they offered me one of the best prices in the area, $1,350 includes timing belt, water pump, tensionser, coolant change, and serpentine belt, also a loaner car. This is the same price offered by an independent shop and the Honda dealership was $400 more.

If you are in the St. Louis area and need this service, check them out.

Update,
I just found out that I need a new transmission, there is an internal leak (not holding pressure) which is not serviceable. My warranty company will send a rep. out within a day or 2. Hopefully it will be covered by Dealers Resource. I have not noticed anything different with the transmission while driving, shifts are smooth in sport mode.

Also, the transmission is covered by Acura's 10 yr. Transmission warranty for the 9 speed until 9/2024 (build date 9/2014), I don't know if Acura would cover this type of failure or not.
The warranty Company has approved coverage, they are looking to use a 54K miles used transmission that would be covered for the remainder of my warranty through 10/2025.

The service rep. is contacting Acura to see if they would cover the difference of a re-manufactured trans.

I would be OK with either outcome. I'm just glad I won't have to put out several thousands of $$$$$$$.

The failure was a leaking internal pressure switch, the estimate for repair was quoted at $4,200.
A used trans vs a remanufactured? Reman is the way to go! Why is this warranty company offering you used parts vs reman? Sounds like a rip off! Get your money back! Acura should replace under their 10 yr warranty! You read the fine print on covered parts under the warranty company?
This is a 3rd party warranty, it is stated in the contract . I bought the car with over 85k miles, I could not buy Acura's best warranty at the time due to mileage.
Its stated they will use used parts, not reman parts?

Yes, stated - we may use replacement components of a like kind and quality that may be rebuilt, remanufactured or used parts.
The warranty that Acura offered from Ethos was not very good and required that I change the timing belt in order to have coverage (it was stated in the fine print). I asked the Acura Finance person why they don't go by the manufacturers recommendations, he did not know. I said that Acura should offer better products.

The used trans. is tested before going out (also, Acura will test it as well), the service advisor with Acura said if the trans. looks beat on when received that they would send it back and push of the re-man.

There is still a chance that Acura may pick up the cost difference of the re-man.
The Ethos warranty offered by Acura states that if your vehicle is equipped with a timing belt, the timing belt must be replaced before your vehicle's odometer reads 60K miles. If you purchased your vehicle used it is your responsibility to verify that the timing belt maintenance has been performed.

Of course the Acura rep. did not disclose this to me and tried to sell it to me anyway, I only discovered it while reading the contract.
