Which is a very good thing. Manufacturing the cars in Japan while North America was by far its biggest market was one of the main reasons Acura became uncompetitive. Cost of transportation and currency exchange were strong headwind to the brand's competitiveness.Another interesting point is that with the start of production of the TLX, Acura is building all of its cars in the US except for the Japanese-made RLX sedan. Even the NSX will be built in the US once it finally goes into production.
