Dealer is saying we should go with 17 inch snowies, rather than the standard 18 that we have.

Other than cost, any technical reasons one way or the other?

Wont this mess with the spedometer?

Not as long as the over diameter remains relatively the same. Having the diameter off can also cause issues with the traction/stability and abs. My Genesis was a real pain to tire because the tires were much different in size front to rear.

Stock size is 235/60/18 for the RDX. Thats what I used on the OEM wheels. Planning on getting something nicer in the spring anyway. Wife doesnt like the of steelies either.

The 17" downsize would be 235/65/17. They are almost exactly the same diameter. Cheaper and maybe a slighter softer ride.

Basic info is here...

Id also recommend SimplyTire for a package. Thats where I got mine from.

Ty for the info and will take a look

Confused: a 17 and 18 have slmost the same diameter? I guess this implies a bigger sidewall on the 17?

Yes. The wheel will have a 1" smaller diameter, but the slighter taller tire sidewall makes up for it. Typically, changing the wheel a size up/down requires the corresponding change to the sidewall (profile) of the tire.
