Searching the market for my first car. Noticed a 2016 V6 TLX tech in an Acura dealership little away from my place. Basically it was a company car that has accrued 124K mileage over the lifetime. Prior to selling, the dealer has changed spark plugs and all belts, adjusted valve timings, and serviced rear brake+rotor. Since I am a first time car buyer, I have very limited experience. Will it be a wise decision to pull the trigger for this one? Being a first timer, I really don't want to deal with troubles. What's your overall opinion for this model at such a high mileage? Do you think it's risky? Thanks!

I wouldn’t say 124k miles is high for a 7-8 year old car personally. I have no experience with that model either though, go check it out. Typically company vehicles are well maintained and that wasn’t your average employees work ride.

I think so. I guess it is not in a bad condition given that they certified it as a Precision Pre owned. Are the TLXs from that generation known for any issues like drivetrain or something like that? Otherwise that might really be a good option.

v6 tlx have issues of blown motors u dont wanna go there if u get high mile get 4 banger unless u get a long warrenty with v6
There are a few rod bearing failures for the V6 SH-AWD. I have a 2015 V6 Advance FWD with 104,000 miles. No problems at all including transmission (runs like new). 290 Hp is well worth it.

Make sure the transmission is working properly. I have a 2016 and I am fighting right now to have it replaced.

Make sure you get a Carfax. That will give you an idea if the maintenance has been done on a regular basis and if it has been in any accidents. Well worth the money. I agree that is high mileage for that age of a car but it was a company car which means it was driven. If you search this forum you will see that some with the V6 have had rod bearing issues. I have the 2015 V6 and love how it drives! I only have 79,000 miles and bite my nails at the the thought of having rod bearing issues. But you will also find other makes that a small percentage of their cars also have rod bearing issues, so its not uncommon. I always keep on schedule with all my maintenance and the 2 owners before me took good care of the car so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I agree with getting an extended warranty and keeping all your repair receipts.
