Red or Black instrument visor?

Greetings! I recently completed a vinyl wrap on my interior and figured that I would share some pics. Door panels and center dash were done with Vvivid dry red carbon fiber and the center console was done with Vvivid dry black carbon fiber. I had the bronze aluminum interior and just do not like it (tech package). I am considering doing the small piece of piano black on the steering wheel in red and the door switch panels on both front doors in black carbon fiber. I want to wrap the instrument visor (above the gauge cluster) but havent decided on black or red yet. I am kind of leaning towards red. What do y’all think? Red or Black?

Wow, I didn’t even think about glare issues. Both the red and black carbon fiber vinyls I have are dry, so they dont have the gloss finish but there is some sheen to both of them. I am going to have to run some tests with that vinyl laid up on my dash and see how bad it might be. Thanks for the input!

Tinting the windshield will take care of any glare issue. I’m not a fan of fake carbon fiber so I voted no change.
How dark do y’all go on the windshield for tint? I’m a noob on tinting windshields…I’ve never done that before. Yeah, I tend to agree on the fake carbon fiber, but I haven’t found many aftermarket parts for the 2021+ TLX’s. I know Acura offers the carbon fiber dash/door pieces in gray/black carbon fiber, but I wanted a contrast in my interior instead of all black and that bronze aluminum was driving me nuts.

@Splitrip2023 , how’d you wrap the center console? Where did you start from?

I just tried to do mine this past weekend, and had a really tough time getting the vinyl not to wrinkle once I got near the part where the palm rest is. I started up at the top and was trying to work my way down.

I did wrap the trim piece you talked about around the shift buttons, becauseI think the gloss black is hideous, and doesn’t match anything else in the interior. I used VViViD’s Black Ash Vinyl, and like the way it looks.

Looks good! As far as wrapping the center console I completely disassembled it. If you search google for the Acura document on how to install the wireless cellphone charger it will show you how to remove the top section of the center console. Once you have it out and upside down you can completely disassemble it until you are just working with the top flat section with the palm rest, cupholders and mouse/buttons removed. At that point its a pretty easy job, just remember with Vvivid to use lots of heat to activate the glue. :)

Thanks.

I’ve gotten the center console apart, so I know how to do that. It was more any tips you had for wrapping that console cover, but it doesn’t sound like it. Just take my time with it.
Just heat and slight stretching as needed to keep the vinyl taught, then I used a gloved hand to rub it down and release any air pockets. I pulled the overlap over the edge and allowed it to adhere to the bottom side so the edge of the vinyl is not stretched. I hope that helps.
