@Splitrip2023 , how’d you wrap the center console? Where did you start from?

I just tried to do mine this past weekend, and had a really tough time getting the vinyl not to wrinkle once I got near the part where the palm rest is. I started up at the top and was trying to work my way down.

I did wrap the trim piece you talked about around the shift buttons, becauseI think the gloss black is hideous, and doesn’t match anything else in the interior. I used VViViD’s Black Ash Vinyl, and like the way it looks.

Looks good! As far as wrapping the center console I completely disassembled it. If you search google for the Acura document on how to install the wireless cellphone charger it will show you how to remove the top section of the center console. Once you have it out and upside down you can completely disassemble it until you are just working with the top flat section with the palm rest, cupholders and mouse/buttons removed. At that point its a pretty easy job, just remember with Vvivid to use lots of heat to activate the glue. :)
Thanks.

I’ve gotten the center console apart, so I know how to do that. It was more any tips you had for wrapping that console cover, but it doesn’t sound like it. Just take my time with it.

Did you go off of a tutorial? Or just wing it? Do you have any input on how to do it? Which colored wires to tap in to? Parts list, Etc…
Here’s a post from AZ where someone did it in a new MDX, but it’s largely the same for the TLX.

I used an Anker MagSafe charger that I’ve used for a year without issue. Other parts I used were:
  • 12V to 5V step down converter w/ USB-C output
  • Female-to-Female USB-C adapter (to connect the step down converter to the charging pad)
  • T-Tas or other methods to tap the converter in to power (I tapped in to the lines for the 12V plug in the passenger area). On the factory wiring for that 12V plug, white is + and black is -.
When you pull the console apart, all you do is pull the guts out of the factory wireless charger, glue the MagSafe charger in place, put it all back together, and you’re good to go.

It took me about 90 minutes to do, and I was taking my time.
