Exhaust Tip Size on 2021+ TLX Type S

Would anyone with a 2021+ TLX Type S be willing to measure the outside diameter of their exhaust tips and the horizontal width of the two together and let me know? I have been scouring the internet and cant find this data. I am swapping out my rear diffuser since mine is white and I like the black better. I figured that I might as well go for a Type S diffuser since its only $25 more than the A-Spec version and I want to swap out my exhaust tips as well (I’m not a huge fan of the rectangle tips on my TLX Tech. The round exhaust tips look soooo much better!!!). Thanks Guys!

I’m going for this look with the Artwork Bodyshop Type S rear diffuser and rear spats with the black stainless exhaust tips.

How much do you think shipping would be to Texas?

I will direct message you.
The artwork rear diffusers are different because the stock type s diffusers already have the fins, whereas the non S trims don't. There will be a gap if u put on the type s artwork diffuser onto your new black diffuser... unless you get the O.E. type s diffuser.

Correct. I have the black Acura Type S rear diffuser on order. It only cost $25 more than the Acura A-spec rear diffuser which does not have the fins.
Just in case anyone else is wondering, the 2021 Type S has 4” exhaust tips and the 2021 TLX Base/Tech/A-spec pipe coming off the muffler connecting to the rectangle exhaust tip is a 2.165” (55mm) OD pipe, just small enough to fit inside a 2.25” (58mm) ID pipe. I got my 2.25” inlet to 4” outlet dual wall dual black exhaust tips yesterday….just posting in case anyone else is looking at changing their exhaust tips and needs the info. :)

I got my exhaust tips installed. I’m kinda diggin’ the black and white contrast between the exhaust tips and the lower bumper, but the Type S diffuser will be installed next week.

I finally got the rear diffuser installed. It’s a pretty easy swap. The rear bumper cover comes off with relative ease. I decided to manufacture my own aero kit since I have the tools and the know how. I have the side splitters and the rear spats fabricated and installed as seen in the pic above. I went with a type R style for the side splitters where it tucks in closer to the body towards the front wheel well. I wasn’t digging the Artwork Bodyshop style where it gets wider at the front. I have the AB rear diffuser on order and will post pics once its installed. I didn’t want to fool with making that part. One 3/8 inch 4’x8’ sheet of HDPE smooth black plastic ran me about $250 after tax and it was enough material to make my front splitter, side splitters, rear spats and all my winglets. So far I have spent about $50 on all my stainless steel hardware. As soon as I get some time off I will begin work on my front splitter. That beast is gonna be fun…I’m going for a look like this…

I like the Artwork Bodyshop front splitter but I don’t care for the “stacked” look. I photoshopped the above picture to remove the stacking that I am talking about. The picture below still has it.

My baby got some new lips, a black mesh lower grill and a wash today. Believe it or not, there is $120 dollars worth of stainless steel hardware in that front splitter….inflation. All in all, I was able to fabricate my whole aero kit myself for about $450.

I know how that works. Do you have the link or how did you know if it is the one to fit?

Link to the tips? Welded or clamped?

These are weld on. I paid a local muffler shop $42 to cut the old ones off and weld both these on.

Then when I had the rear bumper cover off to install the type s diffuser, I prepped the mufflers and welds on the tips for paint, masked them off, then painted them black with rustoleum 2000 degree paint to prevent any rusting and to complete the blacked out look on the back.

Looks like they are matte black?

Yes, but Rustoleum makes a high temp 2000 degree clear gloss that you can spray on if you want the gloss look.
