Hello,

So, one week till I take delivery of my TLX. I've been driving my 2012 TSX this past week and it's been fun. Just wondering to those that have a TLX and had a TSX, is the TLX just as fun or more fun to drive?

Thank you,
Hunter

I had a 2010 TSX followed by a 2012 TSX. I wanted a heavier car that would have a smoother ride. The TLX fits the bill. It is much quieter than the TSX was. For me it is also a lot more fun to drive, though I went from a base TSX to the Advance TLX. With my TSX a 5 minute drive took 5 minutes. With the TLX a five minute drive takes at least 30 minutes.

I have had a 2004, 2007 and a 2011 TSX. While I enjoyed my TSXs, I believe the TLX is more fun.

:)

But this is just my opinion.

TLX is just a whole different and new level of Acura, part of a new era and new expectations of them, a mainstream version of it, since the ILX clearly isn't any of that... yet.
I've had a 2012 TSX for the past couple years and really want to upgrade to the TLX. Being previous TSX owners as well, how does the comfort level differ between the two? Better, worse, the same?

IMO, the tsx is comfortable, but the TLX is just as if not more then the TSX; toss in all of the options like heated steering wheel and auto wipers etc, and that add to the comfort factor. if you don't include the options then both are comfortable cars for sure.

im coming from a 2010 TSX 6 spd. i decided to get out of it because i had a defective VTC that honda changed 5 times under warranty; and it still wasn't good. repairs out of warranty would have cost me an arm and a leg; also it gave bad gas mileage, best i could get was 9.7ltrs/100km.

the TSX (second gen) and the TLX are the same size. however to me the TLX feels like a much smaller car. the TSX had a borderline boat feeling to it that i definatly don't feel with the TLX.

they both weigh about the same, the TSX curb at 3470 and the TLX (4cyl) at 3492, however to me the TLX feels like a much lighter car aswell.

the TSX had double wishbone suspension where the TLX has a macpherson strut, the TLX handles much better imo, it could be the 4 wheel steering, but i think it's the macpherson strut design. i say that because my integra was double wishbone yet my RSX with the new macpherson strut i felt handled better aswell.

the TSX was nice, but with the inline 4 and 6 spd, the gears were wayyyy too short. i could be in 6th gear in the city doing 60km/h and not be bogged down, that's how short it was. with the 8spd in the TLX it makes better use of low end torque and short gearing.

in conclusion, completely different car, TLX feels sportier to me, much better gas mileage, handles better (feels like it has a much lower center of gravity) , i would say that it would be faster than a 6spd tsx, (i was neck and neck with V6 3rd gen TL.....in mexico ;) ) oh and also the brakes on the TSX were undersized.

Thank's for the perspective. I've been driving my TSX like its been stolen these past few weeks. TSX goes to the dealer tomorrow as I pick up my new TLX tomorrow. Can't wait to try it out, should make for a fun commute Thursday.
