Aero Package?

So when you compare the concept and the production TLX its clear that the aero package has been toned down. The skirts are almost nonexistant now, the front lost its leading edges and the rear rounded itself out. What I do wonder is if the ground effects/aero pack could or should be a dealer installed accessory?

Or the other thought could be that we see this type of skirting on the rumored Type S? Thoughts...

It would be a good idea, i can see them doing this, they have done it before and seems like something natural that would would do with this. I hope the red from the concept makes it to production
I don't think that I would spend anything extra on a aero package. The changes just seem so minor to me. I don't think that they change the look of the car that much.
I like them and think they are worth it, a lot of OEM kits are like that, minimal which some people prefer over aftermarket kits.
im hoping there will be some a spec kit to make it look a bit more - ground hugging
What we see on the Concept are the entire front and rear bumpers, not simply a body kit that adds ground effect. I would be surprised if Acura offers these as an entire "aero package".

I actually don't mind the production's front and rear but some nice skirts for the sides would make the car nicer.

just to show the difference

here are some previous versions with the a spec lip kit and without

Thats why I want an OEM lip kit, it adds just the right amount of extra aero to the vehicle.
I can't even really tell the difference. I don't think that I want to buy something that I can barely tell is actually there. Where can you see the difference?
really you cant see the aero kit?

the aero kit is the valence on the parts of the body that are nearest to the ground...

yea I wasnt thinking a simple add on lip, I was thinking along the lines of BMW and the M-sport bumper packs, where the entire setup is altered. The other possibility is if a Type S is in works we will likely see something closer to the concept...

To be clear I don't have issue per se with the production kit, I just really liked what they showed on the concept thats all :D

I have no idea how you dont see the huge difference between the concept and prodcution.

I was very excited for the concept, the production just blanded it down WAY too much. So I'm hoping the aspec kit will fix that.

I have OEM skirt kits ever since honda started offering them. Had it on my first TSX and again on my 09 Accord Coupe. They do the job without being too crazy. And of course the factory quality fit and finish is there. :crosses fingers:

I don't know if it will be an option from launch however? I agree the concept just looked that much better and it was such a simple difference as well!
so..................did anybody actually ordered the aero kit with their TLX?
I believe the launch kit included the aero package. A few members have it. I'd really like to get it when I do get the car but full price is pricey.
im just curious what the difference is like in terms of looks

a before and after pic would be nice.....

I have pictures with the Launch kit that I'm sure I got from this forum. Maybe a Facebook link? Hopefully they don't mind me posting their pictures. It's definitely my favorite picture of the TLX so far.

I only saw the aero kit on the slate silver model at the indy 500 here in toronto.
I want to see it on the black or grey as it didn't sit right on the lighter colour I could see the where the kit finished and the car started a bit too well and felt very third party rather than OEM. I think seeing it on a darker color this would be less obvious but as I still havent' seen one on the road yet let alone with a kit on its hard to tell.
Even googling and looking at those pics doesn't beat seeing it in person.

And its the same in my eyes as the white posted above. The lines of the kit and very jagged and it doesn't scream OEM at me as I mentioned above
It probably isn't as noticeable in the darker colors as you say. I'd have to see one in person before I would consider paying the extra money.
