I got one wireless adapter a month ago for my TLX,works great, no issues so far!! I installed it in the center console, so its totally out of view and connects perfectly.
And plugging it is also charges it. Wired also great, but there are benefits to having it wireless. No need to take the extra step to plug it in, it can sit in your pocket. Or, if you leave the phone is a bag, you don't have to fish it out.

Glad it works for you. What year is your TLX?
I've heard that connection time can vary: sometimes quick, other times slow or not at all.
My 2015 is not CarPlay capable

Well Gary how long have you had your 2015? Maybe consider upgrading to the 2018-2020 TLX next year once the car market starts to really cool down price wise?

I love my 2015!! My vehicle stable contains a 2016 Odyssey and a 2020 F350. Not enough $$ to trade the TLX up!

I got tired of needing to plug my iPhone into the USB port for short trips, so I purchased the CarlinKit 4.0. The CarlinKit 4.0 works great and connections quickly every time with my iPhone safely in my pocket. The CarlinKit 4.0 works so well that I have ordered another one for my wife. The installation process for the CarlinKit 4.0 couldn't be easier and the firmware update is simple if you need to update. You see a broad spectrum of reviews out there but for me this thing works great.

How about the sound quality of playing music with wireless carplay? I usually use Bluetooth for short commutes. I feel that the effect of Bluetooth is very poor.
This unit worked with my car and iPhone. It connects automatically to that phone when I enter the car. It plays music fine and without delays or issues. You can change the music through the touch screen of your car or through the controls on the steering wheel. It will make your life easier.

I'm in the same boat with a 2015. If all you're missing is CarPlay and the car itself is perfectly fine, it may be worth investing in a Grom Vline or something like that, which is way less expensive than getting a whole new car.

I used the discount code "Save15" to get 15% off! When I received it I was immediately surprised at its size. I thought it was about the size of a smartphone, but it's actually a little bigger than a matchbox.
