My understanding is that you will get a check engine light if you do not install a cancellation module. Did you pay extra to have the ADS system installed? I thought that only the Type S and the Advance package get the ADS system. Everything else (Aspec/Tech/Base) get amplitude reactive dampers which do not change with drive mode.

In drive mode select i can change the stiffness of suspension on my A-Spec , i dont use it that much its always on sport mode. I have read somewhere that if i dont pay for the ADS cancellation module i ll loose the car settings (sport, normal and comfort) i dont want to spend 400$ extra cash for module if i dont need it !

thanks for the reply !

So when you push the Acura button (IDS turn knob) and hold it for a couple of seconds and it brings up the individual mode settings does it give you the option to select the suspension mode or just steering, engine and lighting? If you have the suspension setting then you have ADS installed, otherwise you do not. If you have it you will only lose the suspension settings. You wont lose any of the steering or engine settings of the drive modes. And in order to avoid a check engine light you will have to install the cancellation module.

Not always true. My A-Spec is AWD in the US, and I have the ability to customize the suspension in Individual mode, even though the A-Spec doesn’t have adaptive dampers.

It adjusts the behavior of the rear differential, and has absolutely nothing to do with the dampers of the car.

I had a loaner A-Spec that was FWD, and it didn’t have the suspension option in Individual mode because there was no rear differential.

Good to know. Thanks
