1013 Views 32 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Splitrip2023
Hey everyone,

Just curious, I was thinking of getting ONLY a resonator delete with my ASPEC. I have the OEM type s exhaust with mufflers and quad tips. Any suggestions on if it would sound good or signifcant drone? Im on instagram @apex.blue.tlx so DM for suggestions! Thank you!

Both! The 3rd would be too much drone, so 2 was great! Much deeper tone on start up and higher rpms love it!
Stock normal exhaust for the 2.0T and just removed the two resonators, correct?
I have the type s mufflers! So just removed the two resonators from the TLX stock pipes

I thought based on some images back on page 1, the Type S exhaust has no resonators?

He had the Type S mufflers cut off of the Type S exhaust he bought and had them welded on to his Aspec exhaust like an axleback…the mufflers have the same hangers. The Type S exhaust will not bolt up to an Aspec mid pipe. The down pipe and front/mid pipe on a Type S are different from an Aspec downpipe and mid pipe since it is a different engine.

I had seen a few 2.0T owners buy the Type S exhaust, so I thought it bolted right up.

But it sounds like what he did was cut & swap over the rear mufflers from the Type S exhaust on to the 2.0T exhaust, and remove the two resonators on the factory 2.0T exhaust, correct?

Correct. Now it is closer to a stock Type S exhaust setup with the two secondary resonators deleted. I am interested to hear it.

It sounds good, although it’s a bit hard to hear with all the resonance in the tunnel. It’s be nice to get some videos of it just in the open atmosphere. Start up, idle, pull away, fly by, etc.

Are you running the stock intake, or did you modify it as well?

I searched your IG. I couldn’t find it. Do you have a link?
