2021 Acura TLX ASPEC Resonator Delete ONLY?

Hey everyone,

Just curious, I was thinking of getting ONLY a resonator delete with my ASPEC. I have the OEM type s exhaust with mufflers and quad tips. Any suggestions on if it would sound good or signifcant drone? Im on instagram @apex.blue.tlx so DM for suggestions! Thank you!

Here is a sound clip on dual res delete with Remus Sport muffler. The TLX have 3 Resonator. I was told by my muffler guy that if I deleted the 3rd one, it will be slightly loud. In your case if you have a Type S exhaust then do 2 delete first and if it's not too loud then do the last 3rd one.

Awesome! thank you, im just curious if I do a dual res delete if it would sound different since you have a different muffler. Also, is that El Monte? I was just there doing a reel for instagram haha (apex.blue.tlx) I live in studio city so if you ever want to do a shoot, lmk! thanks again!

Looks sick! If you dont mind…what lowering springs/coilovers are you running? What offsets? Stance looks great!

If you are running a stock Type S exhaust then you only have 1 resonator. The Type S exhaust comes with the dual secondary resonators already deleted.

As you can see above where the cross bar is welded there are no resonators on the Type S exhaust. Here is my exhaust which has the dual resonators in that place:

You will still have the front resonator on the mid pipe as seen above. Just out of curiosity…did the Type S exhaust bolt directly up to your mid pipe? Or did it have to be welded? Or did you just have it welded like an axleback after the dual secondary resonators?

Eibach lowering springs kit! 25mm spacers and square Fitment all around, more pics on my Instagram! Thanks

So it required welding on 1 side I forgot cuz i left While the guy did it, but pretty straight forward

You might need to redo the piping because the inlet diameter piping on the Type S are slightly larger since it is a V6 vs a I4 cylinder. But that's up to you. You might get a slight lag on low end but you will gain power on mid to high end RPM. If you delete the 2 resonator, you will get a deep throaty sound. Yes that's in El Monte.

sounds good, I’ll prob just delete the 2 resonators tomorrow and pray it doesn’t drone too much inside the cabin

You won’t have any issue with drone if it’s 2 resonators deleted as long as you don’t do the last resonator. My muffler guy say it will sound like a civic or any other 4 banger with a straight pipe if you do all deleted resonators

Thanks for the tips! I’m On my way right now to get them both off. I’m going to ask to take off the first one to see how it sounds then go with the second if i want It louder lol. But yeah definitely do NOT want that ricer sound 💀

hey Alanchungg,

Hope you are doing well.
As you want to delete your APEC from your own OEM type.You should keep in mind that removing the resonator can affect the sound of your exhaust.

Both! The 3rd would be too much drone, so 2 was great! Much deeper tone on start up and higher rpms love it!
