Thought I would share if anybody has encountered the same issue. Yesterday as I was admiring my car (yes I still am) I noticed the gas cover didn't close flush. When I pressed on it, there was clearly some loose. I've attached pics to demonstrate.

Well I called my dealer, and since I have to get my winter tires on, they said this is an adjustment, whatever that means.

Anybody else have the same issue?

Without being there, I could see it being one of two things:

1. The gas cover needs adjustment because it is not flush with the surface just like a hood or trunk would need adjustment.

2. Is there anything on the inside pushing the cover out. I think I heard that some have had to rotate their filler next to get the gas nozzle inserted.

In any case, I would visit the dealer at your leisure. At least it's not causing an emissions issue, right?

Agreed- at my leisure. Currently no emissions issue that I can see. Just a weird quirk, but I guess that's normal on any 1st year redesign.

Thanks for the post.

Check the plastic part on the inside of the cover. On my TLX it was not seated properly. Gas cover would not even stay closed after I opened it for the first fill.

thankfully it's nothing that stops you from driving but still, not acceptable, something they (dealer) need to look after.
