Actual MPG

I track my mileage and MPG with each fill up.. I find the cars computer is about 5% off from actual. (miles/gallons) (See a **few** pages of my maintenance log - Excel)

That might be an acceptable margin for the cars calculations. I don't think its my calculations as its consistently slightly less that the car's.

Anyone else tracking closely and finding it better/worse etc?

Wow. Nice logs. How about we all send you our info and you do one big overall forum log.

I haven't really compared real world and the TLX's computer but I did with my past few Hondas and they were off a bit as well. I think what you're seeing is what I saw in my past Hondas.

Thanks there are several other pages (worksheets)... lots of VBA code behind them... what can I saw... love tracking this stuff.

Thanks for confirming... too bad the car wasn't more accurate. I'm sure they could have it better.

When you say "off" - in which direction do you mean? From my tracking, the car's reported MPG seems to be 1-2 MPG less than actual.

In my case I found the computer was off on the positive side. What I mean is that when I ran the numbers the computer was usually showing just under a L/100kms better than it actualy was.

Again, I haven't calcuated the numbers for the TLX. I'm just basing my comments on the past two Hondas that I've driven.

Same.

In my experience, this is typical of all cars.

hi all i'm new to this forum and I see a lot of you get over 25mpg, some even 30.. what mode do you drive in? I have a TLX V6 tech and I have gotten no more than 20.1 mpg. I do a lot of highway driving, some stop and go in the morning but even on weekends when there's no traffic and i'm doing a steady 70mph, it never changes. I used to drive in Normal, then I recently started to drive in Sport (my mpg never changed..) so i figured I would drive it in a sportier mode for the same MPG. Does this sound normal? I would loooove to get 30mpg, even 25, HAHA. I love my TLX, so I really don't complain about it too much but just wondering what everyone elses thoughts are. Thanks

Jess

Jess are you calculating it manually or by relying on the car?

In the City 20-23 is about right... folks reporting 25-35 are highway.
