Accident- Airbag Deployed

Had accident yesterday. One person jumped on red and collided head on collision. Thank God I am safe and thanks to TLX safety system that saved my legs!
Knee airbags were deployed soon it detects the bump, there was some smoke as expected with airbags being deoloyed, steering wheel gets jammed, abs went on, driver side bumper is damaged withslight damages on hood n right fender. Right after the collision Acura road side assistance placed the call and send the signals n GPS direction n they informed 911.
Engine went off and was not starting only accessory mode was on.
Had to towed because it was not drivable, it's lying at dealership they will disengage abs and will be towed to their preferred auto body shop.

Wow that sucks. Luckily everyone was OK. I'm guessing that will be expensive to fix.

glad to hear that you're ok!

but I didn't even know that there was knee air bags! don't know how insurance works in your area but around here if a air bag goes off the car is an automatic write off.

Ye, got saved just because of the knee airbags, they kinda absorbed all the bump and gave my legs enough pading.

I don't how does that work, when I opened the case with my insurance customer care rep told it might be a write off but depends when the auto body shop evaluate and how much they estimate, it's gona be costly for sure.

I've never heard of a car engaging abs preventing it from moving after a car accident. Is this a new safety feature? So you can't put the car in neutral and push it after the accident?

It was stuck in P not going anywhere. Transmission went off too, this may be due to some fuse got shot or gas supply cut. Guy who towed had a very hard time loading onto trailer as car was facing right, not went smoothly on the trailer.

The only way to put the car in neutral when it's not running is car wash mode which only lasts for 15 mins. It will then go into Park.

Otherwise it always goes into park when it's shut off regardless of what gear is selected.

From what I understand, every time air bags go off, the car is 99% a write off. Though I'm new to insurance so don't quote me on that. If it is, take your money and get another vehicle. You should have depreciation waiver on the vehicle. 99% of new vehicles have depreciation waiver for the first two years of ownership.

Soon after the incident happened car was ON. However, it was in P tried moving to another gears failed, then thought of restarting then never gets started.
