Key fob, auto lock, Im a moron?

So I could have sworn that the car unlocks itself without pressing the unlock button on the fob or touching the door in any way.

Get close to the car, "beep" and the doors unlock? Doesnt seem to work anymore.

Im a moron?

I'm not going to say you're a moron but I seem to think I have to touch the handle for the door to unlock. That or the fob but I never use the fob.

yes. my fob stays in my pocket. Approach the car... puddle lights and interior lights turn on, but doors stay locked. I put my hand inside any door handle. Doors unlock.

Im highly confident that Im a moron then. BUT, even my wife said it beeps and unlocks without touching anything. Ive been playing with the settings alot lately setting up both of our keys, so maybe its something I stumbled upon.

I just checked the owners manual and there's nothing I could see about unlocking without touching the handle......other than using the fob of course.

Moron confirmed lol.

You dont have to pull on the handle or press the button. Touch the handle and beep it unlocks.

Yer, the sensor is in the handle, you don't have to touch it.
It does auto lock but only in one instance and that's if you unlock the car with the fob but then don't open a door. Not sure why this is the only instance Acura decided auto lock would be used and only then but there you go!

I think I may actually have a bad handle on the driver's door. It unlocks fine but when I go to lock it the button on the drivers handle doesn't always work. I often need to press the one on the rear door. It's intermittent but definitely glitchy. I'll get the dealer to look at it when I go for my first oil change.

It has been like this since the 2G TL. It is a safety feature in case you accidentally unlocked the car with the fob when walking away. I think the relock is after a minute or two if the door has not been opened.

After I leased my TLX, I was hoping that when you walked away from the car with the door closed it would lock automagically.

I agree it would be nice to walk up to the car and have it unlocked for you to enter. If you don't open the door, the door would re-lock as it does now.
