Thumbs up Spare Tire Kit - Finally installed

Today I got my car back from the shop and they managed to install my spare tire kit.

I picked up the car after the service department was closed and checked out the trunk.

At first I thought they forgot to install the spare tire kit, but it was there after all. The foam that sits on the tire looks almost the same but is not as thick as the previous piece of foam. They also had a cutout in the foam for the air compressor.

Finally. All of my accessories have been installed. I am ready for a long trip somewhere.

Here is the trunk mat accessory I got for free ($99 value)

I lifted the trunk mat and the standard trunk cover and found the new foam insert with the compressor along with the jack and a new tool.

At first I thought there was no spare, but I lifted the new foam insert and found the tire. Apparently they had to drill a hole to be able to mount the tire to the trunk. The spare tire kit was free ($369 value)

I also got the Cargo Hooks for free ($12 value).

So with the $500 accessory voucher, I spent $480. I did have to pay $200 for installation charges but that was way less after they gave me a deal. So I did pretty good.

That's how the car should be delivered. It's good that you still have the compressor.

Good deal for sure with the accessories. I think you did well.

Looks good. I'd prefer a spare too.

I don't really see why they don't include this in the first place. Didn't that used to be something that came standard on every vehicle? They've done a good job at keeping it inconspicuous back there.

^ I doubt it. Full size wheels are usually too wide to fit in the well.

Too bad. Well should be large enough to accept a full size tire. Winter tire for the summer and summer tire for the winter.

I don't believe you can get a full size spare in there. It looks pretty tight.

My dealer actually took out the insert from the spare tire well and tried to put a full size spare in, but it definitely does not fit.

Next problem is with the small spare. It is not listed in the dealer's options in Canada. It is available in the US. Does anyone know what the size of the spare should be? I suggested to my dealer to contact Customer Relations to see why this tire is not available to us.
