Stupid question for you guys up North/Midwest

If I am looking at a two year old sh-awd that just happens to be up in that area (I'm in another state), how concerned should I be about rust? I live in Texas, so we don't get much snow down here and I just want to know what to look out for if shopping for a model that is from yall's neck of the woods.

Only have had mine for 2 years in the salt belt.. no rust... my wife's 2011 MDX (which BTW she never washes) has zero rust after 100,000 miles.

Rust is not as big a problem as in years past. The OEM manufacturers are using better grade parts that don't rust and the street crews are using special de-icing chemicals that are not as harmful. Yes, I live in Tornado alley and the rust belt. Why did I settle here!?

I think the main thing to look for is any major scratches down into the metal. Those will rust. As the others have said though, it's not a problem like it used to be. They use a ton of salt up here and there isn't any rust on mine. The past few Hondas I've had have never had a problem with salt either.
